Saturday, 18 June 2005 Kacho ga: Greenfinches Artist: Kiyochika Format: Aiban yoko-e: 9" x 13" Subject: Among the fruiting branches of a Persimmon tree, a pair of Greenfinches. Kacho prints are quite rare in Kiyochika's work, and this is a particularly lively and charming example. Date: c.1880's Condition: Full size. Glue residue from a previous mounting, at bottom corners on verso. Minor marks and flaws. Generally good state. Colour: Fine Impression: Fine with gauffrage on the fruit and the birds. Other Notes: An unidentified Japanese Collector's seal in bottom left corner.
