Monday, 14 November 2005 Title Fishing Boat Artist Seitaro Kitayama 1889-1945 Signature "Kitayama Seitaro" written in Japanese on the back Dated ca. 1930s Technique/Medium Woodblock print Impression excellent - very good Colors good Condition good … paper toning, some foxing, small upper right margin corner missing. Description Small fishing boat tied to a post in the water. Seitaro started from a landscape artist and was one of the founders of Japanese "Do-ga" (the fore runner of "Anime"). He studied animation pictures from the West intensely and found Kitayama Eiga Seisakusho. Width 4.8 inches = 12.3 cm Height 8.1 inches = 20.6 cm
