Measurements of image: 13.5 x 11.5 inches. Wooden gilt frame: 22 x 19.5 inches. Pleasing colors and in excellent condition. Two geese with images of leaves and abstract objects blowing around them stand company in strong winds. Yoshiharu Kimura (1937-) is known for his renderings of beautiful birds in natural environs. Kimura is "not found in most books on Japanese prints, for he represents the side of native taste which is most different from the rest of the world's. It is a style of formalised patterning, seen at its forceful best in the Rimpa paintings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but at its worst whimsical."
