Wednesday, 6 April 2005 KAWASE HASUI WATERCOLOR PAINTING EXTREMELY RARE - KAWASE HASUI WATERCOLOR PAINTING******** This gorgeous watercolor painting is painted on thin washi. The painting is dated 11/10/27. It appears to be a study for the June 1932 woodblock print titled Early Summer Rain, Arakawa. The painting has Hasui's signature and carries the Kawase seal. A similar but different watercolor painting is shown in Hotei's reference Kawase Hasui: The Complete Woodblock Prints. Excellent condition, does not appear to have ever been framed.
