The Ancient Pine in Rain Artist: Hasui Format: Oban yoko-e: 10.75" x 15.75" Subject: Widely considered to be Hasui's finest rain scene. A view of the ancient Pine at Onshi, Shiba Park. See Hasui; The Complete Woodblock Prints, #422 Publisher: Watanabe Date: December, 1937 Condition: Full size. Minor marks and flaws but generally very fine state. Colour: Fine Impression: Very fine, 1st state of the 1st edition with silver pigment used for the rain. Other Notes: Narazaki wrote: 'This design was undoubtedly created to rival the famous print 'Night Rain at Karasaki' by Hiroshige I.
