Monday, 21 April 2008 YUKIO KATSUDA!! Signed and dated 1967, by Japanese artist Yukio Katsuda, this is a beautiful Serigraph (Silk Screen) of a rose. This work is number 1 of 43 limited edition and is simply titled 'No. 21'. The signature, number, and characters are done in pencil. Written in light pencil on the back (lower right side) is: K8/R40. I have no idea what that means, sorry. This piece measures 14" x 18" and is done on a fairly heavy paper. The size of the actual silk screen is 11 1/2" x 15 1/2". The condition is excellent! I have included some Very close photos so you can see just how much texture there is. The texture is so defined that to the touch it almost feels like beadwork!
