The Orchid Artist: Gekko Format: Oban tate-e: 14.5" x 9.75" Subject: A bijin watches helplessly as a pet cat smashes a potted orchid in its pursuit of a butterfly from the series Bijin Hanakagami. Publisher: Takekawa Risaburo Date: 1896 Condition: Very good colors. Laid down on Japanese album backing paper. Full size with large margins. Minor marks and soils. Paper slightly toned. Generally good state of preservation. Impression: Very good with gauffrage.
