ARTIST: Chikanobu. FORMAT: Oban, tate-e (14 by 9 ins) SERIES: Meiyo Iro no Sakiwake; (Series of Honoured Courtesans). DATE: 1883. DESCRIPTION: Shzue and Fujimurasaki of Daimonji-Ro arriving in the rain, a woman from Nakanomachi welcoming them with a candle light. PUBLISHER: Kobayashi Tetsujiro. CONDITION: Slight trimming to left margin. Good impression, colour and condition. Retains Japanese album backing.
