Triptych: Graceful Women in Tokugawa Era Artist: Chikanobu Format: Oban triptych: each sheet: 14.5" x 9.75" Subject: The young daughter of a high ranking Samurai playing with various toys; a puppet representing a Noh-dancer which is held by her nanny, a huge red Sea Bream on a cart and a Hina doll. Her mother wearing a black overcoat is going out. A young servant presenting assorted sweets on a lacquer tray. Publisher: Hasegawa Tsunejiro Date: 1898 Condition: Full size. Faint horizontal centrefolds. Slightly soiled. Minor creases, marks and flaws. Generally good state. Colour: Fine colors. Impression: Fine impressions with gauffrage and lacquer.
