Description "Jidai Kagami" (The Mirror of Ages) Meiji era, A boat race on the Sumida River is depicted on top. Format Oban tate-e Width 9.4 inches = 24.0 cm Height 14.0 inches = 35.5 cm Jidai Kagami is a series of 53 portraits of bijin (beautiful women) made by Chikanobu in the years 1896/1897. It shows portraits of women from different historical periods of Japan. The series was published by Matsuki Heikichi. The usual English translation is "Mirror of the Ages".
