Monday, 8 January 2007 You are bidding on a very beautiful and rare original Japanese woodblock print “Nanzenji Shrine”signed by the famous Show Shin Hanga woodblock print master Asano Takeji (1900-1999) made in Showa Era IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. The print size is 14 1/4 x 10 inches. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. The artist’s signature is at the lower left corner of the print. Four borders are intact. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the woodblock print. This original woodblock print was in a frame for decades. As far as I can tell there are no defects, foxing, or stains, this woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
