Description:
The cartouche in the upper right section of the print bears the Japanese characters: Yakusha Butai no Sugata-e, or Views of Actors on Stage. It also has the inscription: Tachibanaya, or Orange Blossom House. This is the yagö (house name) of the actor Sakata Hangorö III. (from “Kabuki Actors on Stage” exhibition, 4/14/2003-)
