Colour woodblock print, oban triptych. Six kabuki actors relaxing in a garden of plum blossoms, with ladies and a tea maid. From the right, right sheet: a tea maid bearing a tea cup and stand; Matsumoto Koshiro V seated with a tobacco pipe (‘kiseru’); Iwai Hanshiro V seated next to him also holding a tobacco pipe; Sawamura Tanosuke II standing behind; centre sheet: Ichikawa Omezo I standing with a short sword at his side and a tobacco pipe in one hand; Sawamura Gennosuke I seated with brush in hand about to compose a poem on a tanzaku poetry slip; two other ladies to the left, one seemingly about to hand Omezo an open fan; left sheet: Onoe Eizaburo I standing and looking towards three other ladies, one of whom wears a kimono decorated with flowering camellia.
