Description:
Woodblock print, uncut uchiwa fan print. Head and shoulders of Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Matsuwaka Maru, a part he performed at the Nakamura theater in the second month of Kokwa 3 (1847) in the play Usuyuki, ornately gowned with yellow straw at the shoulders, holding part of the gown, with ducks swimming in the background.
