Description:
Colour woodblock print, an oban diptych from an album of 117 sheets. The kabuki actors Matsumoto Koshiro V (right sheet) as Yoemon and Iwai Hanshiro V as Kasane (left), both beneath a willow tree; in the play ‘Shikisemono Soga no datezome’, (also ‘Shikisezome Soga no datezome’) by Tsuruya Nanboku IV, performed at the Morita-za in the 1st month of 1813.
