Description:
Colour woodblock print, oban diptych. The kabuki actors Ichikawa Ichizo I as Fujikawa Mizuemon, standing with a sword and being confronted by a snake on a ‘go’ board, and Nakamura Utaemon III as Ogishi Kurando, seated; in the play ‘Kameyama zome yomikiri koshaku’ by Sakurada Jisuke II, performed at the Nakamura-za in the 4th month of 1812.
