Description:
Colour woodblock print, left sheet of an oban triptych. The kabuki actor Sawamura Gennosuke I probably in the role of Yoshitsune holding a scroll and court fan, in the play 'Mutsu no hana Yashima no gaijin' (also read 'Kigoto no hana Yashima no gaijin'), by Katsu Hyozo I (Tsuruya Nanboku IV), performed at the Ichimura-za in the 11th month of 1807. Poem by Renshotei Wakazumi. Other sheets in this triptych are 1906,1220,0.407 and 1906,1220,0.413.
