Beauty is walking her pet dog. This is Gyosui's woodblock version of Edo nihon-ga master IWASA Matabei (1578-1650) painting. Gyosui was a rare distinguished female Nihon-ga artist before W.W.II. She was daughter of Kyosai and known for her sensitive depictions of beauties.
