Description:
The village of Niinokuchi, a scene from the double suicide play "Koibikyaku Yamato Orai" shows the doomed lovers Umegawa and Chubei in matching Kimono on their way to their deaths. Nakamura Utaemon VI and Nakamura Ganjiro III, both living National Treasures, shelter in a rush mat from the steady snow and both wear kerchiefs over their heads for protection.
