Japanese flag for the New Year's Day Greetings. This card was addressed to the fellow Sosaku Hanga artist, MAEDA Masao. Maekawa's handwriting note states something like, "... I'm sorry for bothering your time around the spring last year... ". The New Year's card designs were made for private use and circulated only to the family members and the friends for that year. Therefore, it is very rare to see the cards from well known artists.
