Description:
From the Sosaku Hanga folio, "Hanga" Volume 11, no.7. "Nasu no Zu" (Picture of Eggplant). Sakuichi FUKAZAWA was a founding member of Nihon Hanga Kyokai in 1931. He contributed his works to several Sosaku Hanga magazines. He used a round knife and very shallow carving to achieve his characteritic, soft lithography-like printing quality. As to H. Merritt, he was confident with his carvings, but was not sure about his printing skills. So, he sometimes turned the printing over to publisher KATO Junji.
