Description:

From the series, "Nihon Meisho Zue" (Views of the Famous Sights of Japan). Shinsho temple (built ca. 970 A.D) at Mt. Narita. The temple was dedicated to High Priest Kobo-daishi and Fudo-myo-o. Kobo Daishi, the founder of the Shingon Sect, allegedly had carved the statue of Fudo. .
