Beauty is dancing with a "sensu" (folding fan). This is Gyosui's woodblock version of Edo nihon-ga master NISHIKAWA Sukenobu (1670-1750) painting. Gyosui was a rare distinguished female Nihon-ga artist before W.W.II. She was daughter of Kyosai and known for her sensitive depictions of beauties.
