"Byakuya" (Night with the Midnight Sun). A girl in blue kimono with flying crane patterns is standing under a tree. A lantern illuminates the girl and the leaves on the ground. Yumeji's melancholic, fragil looking depiction of women were very popular in Taisho - early Showa era. He did numerous illustrations and cover designs for the popular magazines and music notes.
