From the series, "Heisei Yakusha Oh-kagami". Agemaki is a tay�, the highest order of courtesan in the Yoshiwara pleasure quarter and lover of "Sukeroku", the eponymous hero of a famous drama loosely based on the Soga brothers. Nakamura Utaemon VI has now retired from the stage but was one of the greatest post-war onnagata (female role actors). (description by the artist, Paul Binnie).
