Description:
"Bijutsu Sekai" (The World of Art). Picture album series compiled by Seitei WATANABE introducing the works of well known artists in Meiji era such as Eisen, Taki Katei and Seitei himself. The series also includes the designs by Edo old masters. These designs were transferred to woodblock prints mostly from paintings. The series of 25 volumes was published during 1890-94. This volume contains 96 pages, more than usual number of pages. 27 double page and 8 single page illustrations. Bijin prints by Utamaro, Yoshitoshi, Eisen. Nature prints by Seitei, Katei, etc. 3 extra black and white double page illustrations for the story about "emma" on the last section.
