Description:
From the album series of prominent Rimpa artists. Double cherry flowers were depicted as maki-e on the inside of a "suzuri-bako" (sumi writing brushes and ink stone storage box). "Rimpa" was a decorative school founded by Sotatsu in early 17th century. Korin further developed its boldly simplified and distorted natural forms.
