Title Peony in Winter lithograph kuchi-e by Yumeji's lover Artist Hikonojo Kasai 1898-1921 Signature "Kasai Hikonojo" printed as the artist Seal artist's seal Dated ca. 1910-25 Medium/Technique Lithograph Impression excellent - very good Colors good Condition good … paper toning, soiled, two horizontal folds usual for kuchi-e, horizontal creases on the upper area. Description lithograph kuchi-e for the novel, "Kan Botan" (Peony in Winter). This enigmatic artist's real name was "Shi-no" who was a young female student at Tokyo Art College. She met "Yumeji" at his own art shop "Minato-ya" and became his "lover". But she died in 1921 when she was only 23 year-old. Width Item 10.0 inches = 25.5 cm Height Item 14.2 inches = 36.0 cm
