Tuesday, 24 August 2010 Sunrise at Shizuura by Shiro Kasamatsu. Original Japanese woodblock print dated Showa 15 (1940) in left margin. Very good condition. Washi tone and some foxing. Watanabe D seal in lower left margin. Strong texture and ink bleedthrough on fine Japanese washi. Oban size print measures 10.3 x 15.5 inches. Note the color variation from the same print shown on page 7 of the book "Shiro Kasamatsu the Complete Woodblock Prints" by Grund.
