Description:

Offered for sale is a wonderful, pencil signed Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1886-1960), titled Snake Charmers, 1932, from the increasingly popular India and Southeast Asia Series. This print is illustrated at pl. 171 of The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Ogura, Tadao et. Al., Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987). It has a jizuir seal in the left margin, evidencing that Yoshida himself approved of the quality of the print. It also has both a brush signature in the image and a pencil signature in the lower right margin. This print is has very good color and condition, although is some soiling and minor rubbing in the margins and residue/minor thinning from a prior mount on the top reverse corners. The image measures approximately 9 ? by 114 ? inches, plus margins.
