The Laundress Artist: Utamaro I Format: Oban tate-e: 14.25" x 9.5" approx Subject: From the series of full length designs entitled Fujin Tewaza Misao Kagami - Faithful Mirrors of Womens' Handiwork. The bijin laundress is depicted seated on a low wooden stool, washing clothes in a low washtub. Beside her in a water bucket is a group of iris flowers. Grey background. A fine design.
